Amsterdam Tattoo Museum

The Amsterdam Tattoo Museum opened on November 5th, 2011. In three monumental buildings is the largest exhibition of the world about the mother of all arts: the tattoo. The collection of the famous tattoo artist Henk Schiffmacher shows the history of tattooing. Henk lived with his wife Louisa for years in the midst of his collection tattooed skins, designs on paper, photographs and instruments, until it was time to share all this beauty with the world.
In the ‘Tatticaan’ it becomes clear that the art of tattooing throughout the world is addressed otherwise. After the journey through all parts of the world you can watch the real work in the Tattoo Shop. Tattoo artists of international fame reside here for several days or weeks to put on the most beautiful tattoos.
