green cultural oasis
All institutions work together to make the Plantage sustainable. On April 17, 2011 Boudewijn Oranje (daily driver the central district) and Cathelijne Broers (director of the Hermitage Amsterdam and chairman of the Plantage Amsterdam) signed a covenant for the sustainability of the institutions who have joined the Plantage Amsterdam.
The covenant was made to ecourage sustainable business and sustainable tourism in Amsterdam. The parties commit themselves in the next two years with the objective to reduce CO2 emissions each year by 3% reduction. In addition, there is cooperation on sustainable public procurement like energy, waste, paper and food and drink.
The signing of the agreement is the start of a concrete approach to the sustainability of each member organization. Based on a baseline for determining which actionsare needed. Each participant makes a plan that so that they can begin to make a difference. Participants will meet regularly to exchange knowledge and experience on sustainable technologies and innovations. All this to make the Plantage Amsterdam in all respects a real green museum district to stand.
