The Wertheimpark
Directly opposite the Hortus is the Wertheimpark. The fountain takes children on cool summer days while their parents are sprawled on the waterfront. A pleasant and small park with special corners. The ideal spot for a picnic. The liberation of Auschwitz and Birkenau is annually commemorated by the impressive monument made by Jan Wolkers.
The Oosterpark
The green oasis at the Linneausstraat is the backyard of the Plantage neighborhood on beautiful days. Picnicking students, kids play and couples stroll through the park. Friends come together in the Oosterpark or draw back with a book on the tree-shaded lawn.
